“Kristen, thank you for taking time from your life to make a free course for people like me to go to.The information I have read here especially about diet and supplements has helped me tremendously. Being diagnosed with interstitial cystitis is difficult, but knowing that there’s others out there that understand is a true comfort and blessing. I am still a work in progress and have a long healing journey ahead of me. I do however stand here pain free today and feel I owe you a great deal of thanks for taking part in that major feat; your time, work, and effort have paid off not just for yourself but for others as well. Thank you!” – Vicky Montalvo Bright, Asheville, North Carolina
“Hi Kristen, you invited your readers to comment on your free course, so let me congratulate you on a job well done. I’ve been researching IC in depth since a horrible flare last year and trying to figure out which IC protocols will work for me. So I was pleased to find your website which has made it a lot easier to understand IC and to follow the best protocols to beat it. You give me hope which is part of the healing process and I will refer to your course on a regular basis. Looking forward to your updates in the future.” – Monica J, Ontario, Canada
“I started dealing with IC when I was in college over 20 years ago, but I wasn’t officially diagnosed until 11 years ago by a urologist who performed a bladder biopsy and distended my bladder to “help” my symptoms. She said I had a herniated bladder and gave me a picture which showed the appearance of lines or cuts all over it. I later learned that my bladder was inflamed and irritated, which is what causes my frequency and urgency of urination. These symptoms have become worse and more persistent over the years and I am always reading and researching to find ways to help and heal myself. I would give anything to be able to sleep through the night without having to get up sometimes 4-6 times per night. When I travel anywhere, I make sure I don’t drink too much in the car, I always sit closest to the aisle in movie theaters, and I always know where the closest restroom is wherever I happen to be.
I recently found Kristen’s blog and she is the only person I have found that seems to not only understand the physical toll IC takes on you, but the mental and emotional exhaustion and depression it can cause. She provides detailed information and ideas and looks at a holistic approach to healing. She also takes the time to respond to all emails and questions, which makes me feel like someone really cares! I will continue to read Kristen’s information and apply it to my life. It’s important to go easy on yourself and never give up and I truly believe Kristen understands this.” – Anu, Lansing, Michigan
“Kristen’s 4 week course to IC relief was very helpful to me. I have been doing a lot of research on ways to try and naturally heal, and all the info I had gathered was overwhelming me. Kristen’s course was very organized and easy to understand and it helped me feel better about what steps I needed to take to start feeling better. Her course and website are amazing resources, and I know she truly cares about helping others get their IC under control. The road is not easy, but there is hope and there are things that everyone with IC can do to start turning their health around.” -Teryn , Albuquerque, New Mexico
“I am so happy to have found Healing Interstitial Cystitis and the 4 week course! When I was diagnosed my urologist gave me a poorly photocopied list and said try avoiding these things and see me in 6 weeks. No real direction or support. Nearly a year in I just knew there had to be a better way to manage this disease without all the drugs and side effects that go with them. The first weeks email was a tough one for me to swallow. So many things to cut out and change. So I started out slowly, reluctantly changing things, but once i really jumped in and started following the plan and heading the advice given I really began to see a significant change in my pain level. Kristen was/is so supportive and quick to answer any of my question ( and i have had a lot). I would definetly recommend trying the 4 week course! Aside from the changes in diet Kristen also offers great tips for pain relief without all the drugs. Remedies I now turn to when needed, which really is a lot less often now that I have stuck to the changes I learned through the 4 week course. Thank you Kristen for motivating me to make these changes! It has made a huge difference in my life.” – Lisa, Columbus, Ohio
“I am 38 years old and my IC symptoms began at the age of 17, suddenly without warning and no prior symptoms. Till then I have never had UTI, bladder issues, nothing. But all that changed at 17 and I still do not know what caused it or why. After years of not even knowing what my problem was, I finally found out in 2011 that there is a term for this- Interstitial Cystitis. The thrill of finally finding out my diagnosis was shattered when I learnt that it is incurable. Needless to say I experienced what can be described as a strange kind of aching sadness and grief. Thankfully, I bounced back as I have always.
I continued to search the internet for cure or news on IC.
One day out the blue I typed IC on twitter search and to my surprise I found quite a few fellow IC warriors sharing their stories. Google was and is my saviour and social media is a wonderful thing. and that’s how I connected to Kristen.
I never realized that finding somebody who understood what I go through every sings day of my life would be so unbelievably liberating. I felt a great lightness of being. A strange peace knowing that I am not a crazy nut case who was imagining the whole thing. Kristen’s blog and her personal interactions gave me the much needed validation.
VALIDATION is so important to healing. At least it was for me. The most amazing things I experienced after connecting with Kristen was a deep love and regard for myself. I looked at myself in a new light. I realized just how incredibly brave and strong I had been (and continue to be) all these years. This was possible only because of the kind words of empathy and compassion from Kristen.
We are so used to being misunderstood, misjudged, that I had forgotten what true compassion and understanding even felt like. Her blog also inspired me to take charge of my well being.
The blog, her FB page has a balance of everything. Her four week course was extremely useful and I really appreciate that she is doing it totally free of charge. I also look forward to those daily nuggets of inspiration that she posts regularly.
Though I am not yet cured of IC, I am mentally stronger and hopeful now. I feel connected and that gives me lot of strength and support. I thank Kristen for having the courage to share her story and inspiring others to never give up. Thank you.” – Bharathi, Singapore
